My favorite career-advising babelicious blogger has finished her book; you should buy it:

Book CoverToday[base ']s the big day that I announce my book. It[base ']s not out yet. Not until May 22. But today is the day I put the photo of the book cover on the blog and tell you that you should pre-order the book. Yes. Please do that. . . [Brazen Careerist]

I did, yep, preordered with that wonderful one-click dealio on Amazon. You can, too. Now I just have to hope that Penelope's book tour comes to town so I can get the book autographed. . . and maybe get one of those cool t-shirts, too!

I know I've posted this one before, but some quotations just get better with age:

"Reality is that which, when you stop believing in it, doesn't go away."

Bob Jacobson has some nice things to say about CHI; the early registration period's long past, but you can still save some $s by not waiting to pay at the door:

Sigchi-Logo-OnlyChi2007Lest anyone's missed the news, CHI 2007 -- the annual conference of the ACM's Computer-Human Interaction SIG (special interest group) -- will take place next month at San Jose University (California). It's a worthwhile event for those who make their livings studying and applying lessons learned about how people connect with technology (and vice versa). . .

But the latent editor in me can't help but point out that CHI is at the San Jose Convention Center, not San Jose University. Not that anyone who registers will be that confused if they pay attention, but even if you wind up at San Jose State University, you won't be that far away.
