News & Observer: "Much like business partners, gay and lesbian couples can enter into contracts with each other to shore up certain protections that come automatically with a marriage license."

Fast Company, in a new and as yet unposted article on corporate blogging (quotes via Scoble), opening graf: "Robert Scoble may well be one of the most powerful people in Redmond right now. 'The Scobleizer,' as he's known to his daily readers, writes a Web blog, or blog..."

Baseline, October 20, 2003, The Scobleizer Versus Cerberus the Hound of Hades, opening graf: "The most powerful piece of software inside Microsoft may be the $40 application from a tiny vendor called Userland that Robert Scoble uses to write his weblog."

Fast Company: "He gets feedback from tech-savvy readers on how to improve Microsoft Products, and at times, he's even mildly critical of his employer."

Baseline: "It also helps Microsoft hear what the market is saying, both good and bad. "'I link to everyone who hates Microsoft, and I send the negative stuff to the executives,'" he says.

Fast Company: "...posting comments on topics that range from the world's largest pistachio factory to how cheap it is to eat in Shanghai. Mostly, though, he writes about Microsoft."

Baseline: "He links to other bloggers, makes recommendations about Windows-related products, talks about his own upcoming demo of the next version of Windows, known as Longhorn, and mentions the need to balance his personal and professional lives. Almost anything is fair game."

Draft Kerry-Edwards is a blog aimed at getting John Edwards on the Democratic ticket as Kerry's running mate. I think Edwards would be a strong choice.

Piano recital. Big room at UNCG. Elijah and Sydney both played well, with Elijah performing a piece he wrote. He even remembered to wear socks this year. I think cousin Wood's status as most musical Cone is secure, but we were proud anyway. Milkshakes from Cook Out all around to celebrate.

And to complete the Doc trifecta...he's got links to posts about Tivo's failure to take the marketplace by storm. I'm with Scoble's commentor, Joe:  it's just TV, why bother, especially when something even simpler will come along soon? And who sits through commercials anyway? That's what the remote is for -- commercials are your TV's way of saying it's time to channel-surf, or to blog, or pee.

I also don't use RSS very much. I read my blogroll, know who to check frequently, who to check less often. I use RSS to follow specific stories or sites, it's a great tool for that, but I don't use it as a replacement for my browser. Maybe if Radio wasn't tethered to a single computer, or I used other blog software, I would use RSS more...

Speaking of Doc, I'm so proud of him for speaking out in public about his affliction. Admitting the problem is the first step toward recovery.

ESPN managed to overhype last night's game, and the Duke-UNC rivalry, as if they lacked confidence in the action on the floor and the history.

I did enjoy seeing Walter Davis hit that long jumper several times in replays of the great 1974 comeback -- Carolina rallying from 8 points down with 16 seconds left to win -- a game I remember watching on TV as an 11-year-old like it was yesterday. And the only thing that could have improved the footage of the 102-100 double-overtime UNC win at Cameron would have been if they had a shot of me, behind the Duke basket, cheering amid the dejected dark-blue clad fans....

UPDATE: A post from my favorite 12-year-old Carolina fan, complete with a good pun on the name of Duke star Luol Deng.

The CBS Sunday Morning segment on Internet campaigns was really good. David Pogue did not dumb it down for TV. Lots of ground covered in a few minutes. Fun to see Bill Greene, Trippi, and Wes Boyd on-screen knowing that I was lurking off-camera. Well, fun for me.

Bonus: Doc in a necktie.
