Goodness gracious, emitting the slightest mental effluvium into the blogosphere has consequences. Yesterday I mentioned that I have considered some sort of web-based guerilla campaign against incumbent-for-life Howard Coble in North Carolina's 6th Congressional district, and by last night Eric Muller had endorsed me, and this morning Glenn Reynolds had reported both events... So, here's the deal: I would not run as a joke or a lark. Any run against Coble would likely be quixotic -- it's a gerrymandered district that skews heavily Republican, which is why local Dems don't bother to oppose him, and he's got almost $1 million of campaign funds in the bank...but a smart, targeted campaign could make him work for the job... ...so when I get back to G'boro, I'll make a few calls.
