Sydney and I concluded our father-daughter weekend with breakfast at the most excellent Smith Street Diner. Yesterday we got in nine holes of late-afternoon sunwashed bad golf, then hit Sushi 101 for dinner with my mom. "An A+ day," said Syd. 1:02:04 PM comment [] |

Every child rebels in his own way. Ours decided to have a bar mitzvah. My newspaper column this morning is about Elijah's bar mitzvah. You can read the whole thing here. I try to limit myself to a very few personal columns per year. I don't want to be self-indulgent, yet I think they can be useful as a way of telling readers a little about who the columnist is beyond the politics and other serious stuff. And I know that no matter how lightweight, those are the columns that tend to draw the most response, and that people remember years later. 8:37:02 AM comment [] |
