running from marbles and

piracies and its

when the world is puddle-wonderful

the queer

far and wee
and bettyandisbel come dancing

from hop-scotch and jump-rope and

"Laboratory scientists are focusing on the possibility of  a previously unknown infectious agent"

Reading that in the paper this morning sent a chill through me bones.  The CDC has issued travel alerts.

150 cases and 4 deaths so far of Severe Respiratory Syndrome (SARS), a mysterious pnemonia found in Aisa and Canada so far.  the CDC has activated their special lab that they activated for the anthrax mailings.

Airplanes fly low enough here for me to count the rivets in the wings.  On my walk this morning, I saw each airplane as a delivery system for infectious disease. Just like the lifeless protein husk of a virus delivers a rich brew of DNA, the steel husks of airliners penetrate our biosphere with a rich sampling of human flesh and the beings that feed on it.....
