I'm amazed at how stupid software companies can be. No rational user would expect that using the highly touted, ultra-reliable, high-performance NT File System would mean you couldn't get to your data. And no piece of official documentation I've seen anywhere makes this point, at least not in English that a normal user would understand. I'll accept my share of abuse for stupid computing tricks, but the OS is not supposed to make it worse. I hate computers.
