SciFi Horror Trend

For the second consecutive night Clive Barker's Saint Sinner is on SciFi. I know it's Halloween, but this movie sucks (literally -- that seems to be about all the main character can do.) It's not science fiction. It's not even entertaining. It's just the masturbatory fantasy of a gross freak. Clive Barker is a dweeb. 35-year-old Star Trek reruns are better than this. And Fox has got better scifi with Firefly.

Barry Diller is going to kill the SciFi channel with his personal paranormal/horror fetish.

NFL -- Nail Biter for Atlanta

This has been one of the best games of the NFL season. Atlanta scored a field goal with three seconds to go to get the win. The Falcons never quit, even when Warrick Dunn fumbled on the Falcon's 24-yard line and NO scored a few plays later to take the lead with just over two minutes to go.

Atlanta is too reliant on Michael Vick -- he will likley follow the path of almost all hgihly athletic NFL QBs and succumb to injuries in 2-3 years -- but for now he is a potent weapon. NO is arguably the best team in the NFL right now (certainly one of the top five), and Atlanta beat them in a tough, offensive battle. This is promising for the future.

OH yeah -- Emmitt got the record!

NFL -- Atlanta Fights Back

Wow! Atlanta didn't crumble and has turned this into a game, fighting back in the 2nd quarter to score 14 points while holding NO to zip. It's still a bit sloppy -- with a good number of penalites and turnovers on both sides. Atlanta did get some help with a couple of iffy calls by the refs, but the defense began pressuring NO's Brooks and slowing Deuce Macallister. At the same time Atlanta's Vick has found a rhythm and Warrick Dunn is playing well.

We'll have to see how this one plays out in the second half but right now Atlanta has turned it into a game.

How's Emmitt doing on the record?

NFL -- Pending Massacre in New Orleans

Sadly, the Falcons have spent the first quarter playing like an NCAA Div II football team -- the defense has covered the field like a sieve and already given up a handful of critical penalties. The offense hasn't been able to move the ball at all -- QB Vick has been pressured and sacked three times, leaving the offense looking disjointed and scrambled.

NO 10 - ATL 0 at the end of the first quarter. This could be really ugly.

I hope Emmitt has a better day in Seattle. As a Texas boy by birth I may be biased, but Emmitt's one of the best runners and one of the best people to play the game of football. There is no one better suited to breaking Walter Payton's all-time rushing record.
