100 things about me

"A person should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful that God has implanted in the human soul." - Goethe

Sentimental Journey

A day of discovery!  We ventured out into the shed behind the house and found lots of treasures I'd long ago forgotten about.  A box full of old Trixie Belden books from my childhood, my 1976 Aquilla senior yearbook, pictures of the kids when they were born, a couple of my dad (who's been deceased for many years now), Carrie's baby book, the cap from my highschool graduation, an old cedar ice cream bucket, a rack of old 45's (some still in the original jackets), the wedding album from my first marriage (I was so young & pretty & thin...) and a couple of mysterious paintings.  Better than Christmas!

Scott & I brought some of the things inside today.  Of course, the personal items I'll hold on to forever.  I just researched the Trixie Belden books, and found several for sale on Ebay.  I'll list mine and see what happens.  The ice cream bucket should sell.  It's nice and in really good condition.  Scott will be busy this week taking pictures for the auction.  Looks promising.

I was so glad to find those old photos.  So many memories.  The kids will enjoy seeing them, too.  Especially the ones of their dad and I when his hair was longer than mine.  I was young and innocent in 1976.  Married straight out of highschool.  So glad my girls didn't do that.  Maybe they've learned something from living through all my mistakes  :)

Did a little work on the template.  The script for my comments went haywire and I had to retrieve it from Enatations.  Wasn't too difficult, and seems to be working ok, though I never actually GET any comments!  Also was able to get the home button inserted into the Antiques category page.  Have I mentioned how much I'm enjoying my weblog even though it annoys the hell outta me sometimes?

Cheers.
