100 things about me

"A person should hear a little music, read a little poetry, and see a fine picture every day in order that worldly cares may not obliterate the sense of the beautiful that God has implanted in the human soul." - Goethe

Saturday Musings

Working my auctions today, and I'm happy to report that things are going well.  A few more items have sold, and we got another positive feedback.  I spent the morning making a spreadsheet using QuatroPro for my Ebay items.  I still need to learn the mathematical functions in that program so it will compute my net sales automatically.  It's nothing elaborate, but should be helpful.  Listed a few items during the past couple of days and need to make another trip to the post office Monday to ship some things out.

Thanksgiving Day was terrific!  Cooked a turkey for the first time in my life, and it was perfect.  I set out the "good" china, and we even sat at the dining room table to eat.  Some things I learned about cooking turkeys:

  • spend a few extra $$ and buy a Butterball
  • there are TWO plastic bags stuffed inside the cavity (both ends)
  • a meat thermometer is not absolutely necessary
  • rub cooking oil on the outside of the bird (I also rubbed in cajun seasoning)
  • baste with juices frequently
  • baste with melted REAL butter even more frequently
  • you can never baste too much
  • it's always good to have your best friend on instant messaging to answer all your stupid questions!

Sure is nice having a 4-day weekend  :)  Rented a couple of movies yesterday.  We watched Chris Rock & Anthony Hopkins in "Bad Company" last night.  Sucked.  Don't waste your money.  I fell asleep halfway through.  Tonight, we'll watch "Shiner" with Michael Caine.  Hope it's better...

Hope to be able to post some auction pix here later.  I best be gettin' back to work!

Cheers :)
