Can't trust that day....Not a typical Monday. I arrived at the office (late of course) only to be informed that one of my female employees confronted another female employee with a BUTCHER KNIFE last night. jeSUS. This has something to do with a love triangle...(I don't wanna know more, please). This girl has worked for me for years, and she's never done anything like this before. Ever. The thing is...her husband works there too, although in another department. I've had 13 yrs. experience in personnel as a manager, and it's a rare occasion when married couples can work in the same place. I know that's not true in all cases, but as I see it, there is eventually a disruption, a discord, a dislike, a D-I-S-A-S-T-E-R. Thankfully, no one was physically hurt. Jobs are in jeopardy, threats have been made, and arrests are pending. Lovely. On a lighter and much more pleasant note, I received a refund in the mail today from the IRS for $87.57. Seems my accountant screwed up and caused me to overpay. Well that's all fine & good....it couldn't have come at a better time (car insurance, remember?) BUT - the statement enclosed with the check said there was an overpayment of $199. They deducted interest, late fees, etc., etc. One deduction was a full $100 for filing late. The IRS has a short memory. They granted me an extension - I have proof. And I want that $100 back. Should I just take the $87 and run? Or take a chance at having them review it once more? What if they find yet another mistake? In their favor? I've always believed that it never hurts to ask. So I think I'll take my chances and go for the gold. Maybe... Noticed Imood is offline. So in case you're wondering.......I'm feelin' kinda like I need a BC Powder. "Monday, Monday Can't trust that day Cheers.

Slashdot | RadioShack Stops Being Nosy. jackbang writes "One small but positive step in the gradual erosion of personal privacy and increase of corporate intrusiveness - RadioShack will no longer ask for your name and address when all you want to do is buy some batteries. Now if only they would agree to remove the motion sensor that rings a bell every time someone walks in or out of the store..." --- Always freaked me out being asked my address just to buy some solder or something. 'bout damn time.. 4:57:48 PM ![]()
