Stateline is getting ready to roll out a new site.  They are adding some nice features.  Here's a flash tour of the new site.

Today is day 600 of Governor Leavitt's 1000-Day Plan.  He mentioned that yesterday in his monthly press conference.

The Multistate Tax Commission released a report this week on the revenue impact of permanent extension of the Internet Tax Freedom Act on state and local governments.  In summary, the extension could impact states and locals by as much as $8.75 billion by 2006.  Legislation will be introduced in both the House and the Senate that will authorize states to collect taxes on items purchased online.  NGA is backing the bill.

The House Government Reform Committee approved H.R. 3159, the “Government Network Security Act of 2003" yesterday.  The bill would require federal agencies to develop and implement plans to protect the security and privacy of government computers from the risks posed by peer-to-peer file sharing.

Managing Your Virtual World, Internal Controls for Enterprise Technology is an article found in the most recent issue of Government Finance Review, a publication of the Government Finance Officers Association (GFOA).  It discusses issues like security, digital certificates, workflow, document management, ERP, and online learning.

GAO testimony before Congress on the Office of Personnel Management's five eGovernment initiatives.

The latest GDP and corporate profit data was released this morning.  Find it all at EconomicIndicators.gov.  They have a subscription service so that you can get all the latest reports emailed to you as soon as they are available.
