The Apple website Pro section has a feature on John Early and his automotive VR photography. He explains how he got into VR, and what's involved in shooting VRs of cars. While there is a large crew for some of the automotive productions, he still does his own Photoshop retouching. QTVRAS is mentioned more than once.

I see this as a sign that Apple values VR and is promoting QuickTime intermedia (e.g. video, VR, object VR, sprites, Flash all used together).

idg.net.nz has an article entitled Expat to put product design expertise in Kiwi hands, which talks about Richard Mander, former program manager for Apple's QuickTime VR.

Sandisk announced their Extreme CF and SD cards; said to be fastest 1GB CF card. Read speed is up to 9 MB/sec, write is up to 6 MB/sec. Thanks dpreview.

Purpose
