MacRumors mentions word of an impending QuickTime update sometime in the next few weeks. Perhaps it's related to the other rumor of Apple introducing a Mac-only music service? (from PlaybackTime).

The March 7th edition of the QuickTime News is out. In it Apple mentions an amazing time-lapse photography project by Roger P. Hangarter at the Indiana University Department of Biology showing the opening and senescence of flowers in QuickTime format.
