Recently I was trying to explain how Windows Media and Internet Explorer on Windows hijacks the playback of QuickTime VR content, but I'm not sure I succeeded. Then I found this tutorial which summarizes the situation pretty well, although it omits one solution or renaming all your QuickTime content to a unique extension which the QuickTime software reecognizes but Windows Media Player ignores (like ".pano"?)
