So you've probably heard about the Apple music service announcements today (thanks NY Times)... and related to that, there is a new version of QuickTime (6.2) available. The changes in 6.2 include:
* Foundation support for iTunes 4
* Enhanced AAC audio encoder (QuickTime Pro only)
The AAC codec is said to provide higher quality sound than MP3 (presumably at the same file size).

In my HDR for Panoramas section, there is a mention of Photomatix, HDR software for Windows. Robert C. Fisher tells me that a beta version of Photomatix for Mac OS X is available, and sent this sample showing how it increased dynamic range for his images (click on thumbnail for full 2000x1500 pixel image): A picture named Photomatix-comp-small.jpg

Purpose
VRlog provides news, developments and analysis of the virtual reality (VR) world from a nature photographer's perspective. Since I am not connected to or funded by any VR vendor, I intend to objectively appraise what's going on, and the direction VR is headed in. -- erik goetze
