The World Wide Panorama - December Solstice 2004 has officially begun!

Take your panorama(s) anytime in the five days - Friday through Tuesday, December 17-21. The theme is "sanctuary". More information is available on the web site - http://geoimages.berkeley.edu/wwp1204/indextemp.html

There are currently 446 registered members, plus unregistered participants, so the expectation is for over 200 panoramas to be submitted. Markus and Landis are still fine-tuning the submission forms and site creation database, which will be available at the conclusion of the shooting period.

In summary, shoot as many times on the theme "sanctuary" as you like during the period of the event, then select just one. Create it in QuickTime format (panorama or object), within the filesize and dimension limits specified. Prepare also a full caption in English, plus an additional language if you wish, and be ready to submit on-line between December 22 and 29.

The World Wide Panorama site gives you the opportunity to link to your own site, so you can present additional examples of your work, including formats other than QuickTime.

Purpose
VRlog provides news, developments and analysis of the virtual reality (VR) world from a nature photographer's perspective. Since I am not connected to or funded by any VR vendor, I intend to objectively appraise what's going on, and the direction VR is headed in. -- erik goetze
