Guide on Mac OS X (in Finnish) -- Comment()
I updated my guide on Mac OS X (written in Finnish) by adding one new article to the end. Now there are 29 pages in the guide. Some of the articles are starting to age, so I'll probably drop them from the next version. And I'm planning to write a new article about the interoperability of Mac OS X and Unix systems during the summer, if I have the time.

Column about supercomputing -- Comment()
My column 'Confessions of a supercomputer guy' appeared today in print (written in Finnish for the MikroPC magazine). I discussed my 13 years of experience in supercomputing, and speculated slightly what will happen during the next 12-13 years. Perhaps this is not a very popular subject, but for me this has been a career.

I haven't much visited BlogShares recently, but today I received some feedback and a gift of shares from Loebrich.org. I had to guess at the correct response, but finally I gifted one share of this blog in return. I also noticed that this blog had risen in valuation.

Dangerous spam -- Comment()
I'm currently recruiting a specialist on chemistry and biosciences. Yesterday I received an e-mail message titled 'Re: My application', which contained an attachment. Luckily our e-mail system noticed that the attachment was an executable file for Windows, and had labeled it as 'possibly_dangerous_file_attachment'. Of course, I'm running Mac OS X, which makes it unlikely to catch the trojan. But I can see how someone else could easily open this kind of dangerous attachments of spam messages.
