[Item Permalink] Testing Nokia 6800 -- Comment()
I today received my new Nokia 6800 phone, which contains an internal keyboard for writing SMS and e-mail messages. I haven't yet tested the phone (the battery has to be charged first), but it is quite light and reasonably small. A colleague used Nokia 6800 for making notes in a seminar, and the keyboard worked well. Have to see if the phone fits my purposes. There are a lot of features compared to my current phone, Nokia 3210. So, it will probably take some time to get used to this new tool.

How Apple's Spam Filter Stacks Up: "I won't say I don't receive pitches for the occasional mortgage discount or Vegas vacation, the latest performance-enhancing elixir or anatomical wonder pills. In general, though, I've had good results with a built-in spam stopper in Apple's Mail program, which I've used daily since it was released with the Jaguar update of OS X last year." [osOpinion]

IBM 1980 = Microsoft 2000?: "Aaron Goldberg is writing about the same parallels that I have used in many discussions: Microsoft has contracted the same disease IBM had in the mid-'80s. It's called screw-your-customer-itis. The symptoms go from the ill-timed price hikes last year disguised as license changes to the poorly executed, capricious end-of-life announcements for key products to the carnage they've left in the 'Windows-compatible' software business." Steve Jobs' half note: "Buying music online got a lot easier with Apple Computer's new music store. It's a promising sign of things to come in the music business. That said, the service feels like half a loaf--it only begins to offer the music experience that is possible with the Internet." [Google Technology News]
