My net column on the cost of broadband in Finland (in Finnish, Miksi laajakaista on Suomessa kallista) appeared yesterday. There has been a lot of discussion about this topic in Finnish media recently. Sweden and Japan offer broadband much cheaper than the Finnish operators.

A colleague referred me to the LinkedIn service. This concept shows some promise: Who knows whom knows whom? Currently I seem to have 42,200+ linked users in the service. However, I believe you would need to invest considerable effort in developing your connections to benefit from this service. And I simply don't have the time.
