[Item Permalink] The IBM renaming project -- Comment()
I discovered the following text on the Sametime product site at IBM. This is the description of the product at the beginning of the page. Something is perhaps wrong with the thinking here?
IBM Lotus software has transitioned many of its products to simpler, descriptive names designed to help make them more easily recognizable to customers. As part of this transition, Lotus Sametime will now be named Lotus Instant Messaging and Web Conferencing, to represent the two specific functions the original name represents. For more information on this renaming project, please visit www.lotus.com/brand.

Security Guru Unmoved by Gates' RSA Remarks: "Was it just me or was he just not excited? I expected more excitement [...] When he talks about features and cool things [in his products], he gets animated. But until he gets animated about security you know he's not going to solve the problem." [Tomalak's Realm]

I wrote a short essay on The Future of Elmer. I'm currently leading the group which has created Elmer, which is a computational tool for multi-physics problems. So, if you have comments, please don't hesitate to contact us about your needs in mathematical modeling.
