[Item Permalink] Is Finland the most competitive country in to world - and the least corrupt? -- Comment()
The World Economic Forum has published an updated Global Competitiveness Report. The report ranks the countries in 2004-2005 as follows:

1. Finland
2. USA
3. Sweden
4. Taiwan
5. Denmark
6. Norway
7. Singapore
8. Switzerland
9. Japan
10. Iceland

Also, Transparency International surveyed 146 counties and found Finland to be the least corrupted nation in the world. Finland was for the fifth consecutive year the least corrupt country in the world.

This is of course very nice for Finland - but do these surveys actually mean anything? They show how things are at the moment, not where we will be in the future.
