Even Digital Memories Can Fade: "The problem of preserving digital photos and other electronic records for future decades confounds even the experts." [NYT > Technology] I currently have about 1200 photos in iPhoto, and about 17 GB music in iTunes. I also have a personal document archive, currently organized into folders, containing, articles, books, software etc. written by me. I hope that the Spotlight search technology in Mac OS X 10.4 will make all this information easy to handle. But how to archive data? Currently I have all this information on my iBook and PowerBook, plus a 30 GB external pocket-size Firewire disk. This works fine, but having an semiautomated synchronization between the computers would be nice.
