Benefits computer failure creates chaos in UK: "The BBC has been told that about 80% of the DWP's network, used for millions of benefits and pension payments, crashed on Monday and is still not fully functional. [...] Technical experts from Microsoft and the computer firm EDS have been working around the clock to find the fault which has left the staff having to communicate by fax because the e-mail system has broken down."

Apparently the new system cost £412.5m to implement, and the result is chaos.

Copy Address Book contacts to a Nokia 6620: "Read the rest of the hint to learn how I managed to get my contacts from the Address Book over to the 6620, in one fell swoop."

One area where Mac OS X should improve is syncing and interfacing with Nokia phones. But the responsibility for this lies as much with Nokia as with Apple - and so far Nokia has shown little intest in the Apple platform.

Make it simple: "The next thing in technology, says Andreas Kluth, is not just big but truly huge: the conquest of complexity [...] Whenever Mr Maeda plugs something in, he says, his PC sends a long and incomprehensible error message from Windows, Microsoft's ubiquitous operating system. But he knows from bitter experience that the gist of it is no."

I must say I don't have much experience of Windows. At least with Mac OS X the technology usually just works.
