Intel Developer Macs Outperform G5s: "Developers working with the new Intel-based, developer-only Macs are impressed with the performance. The machines take as little as 10 seconds to boot from Apple logo to desktop, and apparently run Windows XP at 'blazing speeds.' Rosetta tests demonstrate the PowerPC-native build of Firefox running just as fast as it does on a high-end G5." [Slashdot:]

I'm planning to replace my iBook by the end of this year, even though next year the first Intel-based Macs will appear. But my iBook is almost four years old, and is starting to show the age. The 30 GB hard disk is full, and the speed starts to lag due to the large number of photos and music tracks. The last update of iBook happened over eight monts ago, so the next version should be out any day now. A 1.5 GHz iBook with a 64 MB display card and a 80 GB hard disk would be excellent for my purposes.
