MS launches Server 2003 & MS tops gains in OLAP (BI) Market Big day today for MS - launch of the long-awaited Server 2003 (formerly known as .NET Server). This is a significant product for collaboration -  with close linkages to SharePoint and Real-Time communication services. MS tops the list in OLAP market (*Biz Intelligence products) last year [eWeek04.15.03]. It owns about 25% of the OLAP market and has Oracle knocked off from the top five positions. The competitive advantage lies in the Analysis Services which comes bundled 'free' with the SQL2K servers. Upcoming MS release of 'Yukon' (with built-in Reporting Services) should concretize the lead further in the *BI market. 8:32:09 AM
