Dissatisfaction with IT Forrester Research's survey results show companies' dissatisfaction with their IT departments (what else is new?). This is a perennial issue - it hasn't changed in over three decades. It is quite unlikely that it will change in the near future since there are conflicting philosophies, perhaps a quote may elaborate - "One of the fundamental challenges Parkinson sees is that software applications built to support business processes and operations are rigid and "antithetical to agile behavior. Businesses like to be able to change directions on a dime, and those are conflicting forces," he said." This issue is fuel for fire - see the current issue (May '03) of the Harvard Business Review - 'IT Doesn't Matter'. 10:23:28 AM ![]() |
