Kohl's Frozen Custard Finger; the rest of the story... Since the tip of the worker's finger was found in frozen custard by the drive-thru customer shortly after he returned home the doctors at the hospital immediately requested it be sent to them. The time and temperature involved meant that they had a good chance of successfully re-attaching the finger to the injured worker's hand. Incredibly, the customer apparently thinking he had hit a legal jackpot refused to turn the finger over. While owner Jeff Kohl and I were sitting at a table discussing this a call came in to his cell phone from someone at the store where the terrible incident took place. The person on the other end confirmed that the finger tip now long past any hope of being re-attached to its rightful owner, was still in the possession of the customer (as of Wednesday afternoon). my whole encounter here... Kohl's official statement here... Note: As reported in the CBS news piece: Look at the photo taken of the finger laying in the frozen custard and let me know if you thought it jived with the customer's account of unknowingly putting it in his mouth before he started screaming in his kitchen. (A good reporter didn't ask this same question?)Update from Friday's Raleigh News and Observer. You can take the on-line poll on whether the customer should have given back the finger tip. With 500 votes in only 68% said yes. What am I missing here? 10:04:49 PM![]() |
