It's Show Time, con't

OK, I'm thinking of the show mentioned yesterday and am trying to come up with a half dozen ceramic pieces that people have around the house. I want small stuff so that all the items would fit on a mantle piece, a coffee table, or one's cubicle shelf at work.

Well, I couldn't come up with a great list:

  1. Mug
  2. Bowl
  3. Plate
  4. Planter
  5. Ashtray

There are some odd things, like ceramic thimbles, teacups, saucers, sparkplugs (thanks for that one, Maura) false teeth (thanks for that one, too, Maura.) I am not sure everyone has access to these. Folks just don't have the amount of common ceramics stuff that they used to.

So now I'm thinking of going with just mugs. Most folks can come up with 5-6 mugs. (The show would fit on a car's dashboard..a traveling exhibition!)

This has the added benefit of being able to attribute different meanings to what is basically the same thing, further drawing attention to how the Information (Title, Label, Artists Statement, etc...) that goes along with a piece effects the art's meaning.

As I mull over just what Information to append to them, I'll take a look at how they are to be presented. I should be able to figure out the presentation pretty quickly.
