Ring Pillows, Sacred Geometry, and Back to the Past As noted yesterday, I did not mention ring pillows in my past synopsis of various ring containers (box and spindle.) There are lots of different types of ring pillows. There is even a ring pillow/box. Many of these pillows are heart shaped. The heart being a form of sacred geometry symbolizing love. Many of these pillows have writing on them, usually personalizing them with the bride's and groom's names, and date of the event. Many of these pillows have lacey boarders. Lace refers to the cloth worn by the bride, but also presents a pattern that pleases the eye, etc... It should be no surprise that we see these and other elements that we noted before are common to containers of special objects. Thus, these various elements on the container confir a significance to the object held. The ring is made more special because of its container. The ring pillow (in other words) performs at least the same function as a pedistle or frame...if not an alter.
A further consideration...does the specialness of the ring change (at least in meaning) by what the pillow may be stuffed with? |
