Korean Buddhist Prayer Container Analysis Part 8.

Continuing the method of analysis brought forth a couple of months ago.

6. Writing:

The clarity of the image is just too poor to see if there is any writing.

While Korean calligraphy is an ancient art form, I have not been able to find examples of writing on sculptural works (or fine craft.)

I was thinking I would find a whole host of text on pieces. In particular, I thought I would fine quotes from various sutras, or mantras, but I am only seeing patterns and symbols.

I am a bit surprised, and may be looking in the wrong direction. I think these pieces mostly use symbols to carry their meaning, and not text.

What can I say? There is no writing as far as I can see.
