§ - CA Drivers: Eyes Off That Laptop

The California State Assembly passed an amendment to its vehicle code, which went into effect Thursday, making it illegal to run most video displays in the front seats of automobiles. The bill is an elaboration of a standing law forbidding television displays, and extends to include devices like laptops, personal digital assistants (PDAs) and video games.

§ - Most of the men consider women to be lousy drivers and a major cause for road accidents. What do you think?

In my sixteen years of driving experience I have yet to see a woman driving with her head twisted around to look at a male driver passing by in another car!!!!!

§ - To Soften the Din of Traffic, Walls of Lizards and Teepees

If people have to live with an ugly noise wall in their backyard day in and day out, they'll tell you they don't hear any noise reduction even if you stand there with a meter. They'll look at you and say, "I don't care what your meter says, I just can't hear any difference."

  • The number of people killed in road accidents in Japan in 2003 was below 8,000 for the first time in 46 years due partly to a tightening of punishment in 2002 for drunken driving, the National Police Agency said Friday. The total number killed came to 7,702, down 624 from the previous year, the agency said.
