Former CIO Windley warns of wireless internet security problems
Phil Windley warns about the security dangers of wireless internet access in a recent article in the Provo Herald. According to the article he is now running a computer systems consulting firm.  The article has generated so much comment on the Herald website, much of it hostile.

Hatch battles for court nominee

Sen. Hatch joins Senate Republicans in near unanimous support of  Miguel Estrada to Federal Appeals Court Bench. A battle is shaping up with Democrats, who threaten filibuster.  Estrada is seen as a Hispanic role model by Republicans and too conservative by Democrats.

Hatch on board for less restrictive cloning bill
Sen. Hatch has added his name to the list of sponsors of an alternative cloning bill in Congress.  The less restrictive bill would allow the use of cloned human embryos, but would prohibit the cloning of humans.
Hatch, a Republican, is the only member of Congress who opposes abortion rights but publicly supports the use of human embryos - including cloned embryos - for research.  (Knight-Ridder / Tribune Business News Feb 5).
