International Diplomacy...

Apparently, over the weekend, an RC-135S was harassed by four Korean MiGs over the Sea of Japan. They came within 50 feet of the lumbering aircraft, and at one point one of the MiGs had radar lock on the plane. The plane was flying over international waters.

So, what the hell are the Koreans doing? They've been stepping up their rhetoric. First it was withdrawal from the NNPT, then it was kicking out UN inspectors, then it was threatening to restart their nuclear reactor. Now, they've restarted the reactor, threatened first strike attacks against the US and harassed our aircraft.

I think Korea may be on the verge of doing the unthinkable, but we don't go negotiating with terrorists, let alone terrorist states, that's the UN's job. So why is the UN ignoring Korea and paying attention to Iraq? Everyone seems to be focusing on the US, asking them do to Do Something about Korea, when, if we're being completely multilateral, we'd be going through the UN to do something about North Korea.

For now, we can just hope that they don't nuke Seoul, or we're going to find ourselves in the midst of an ugly finger pointing session.

Monday Links

Truncated due to mistake (closing browser window)

...Chris Pirillo talks about Gnomedex 3.0. I'm coming, are you?

...This link also came from Chris, it's statistics about chemical and biological weapons exposure, and how little you need to be killed by VX. This one is dedicated to the guy with the "War is Costly, Peace is Priceless" banner on the Key Bridge this morning. War may cost me a pretty penny, but it's better than horribly gassed civilians, yes?

...Congrats to Danny O'Brien on the birth of his daughter, Ada. His wife blogs just two hours after birth. Wow. Go Mom.

...10 Days says Instapundit. Erik sailed yesterday or sails today aboard Louisiana. God Bless, little brother, and definitely Godspeed. We're all thinking good thoughts for ya. Come back with that qual card filled!

...Ever wanted to reach a bunch of friends via cellphone? Mobcall. Lovin' this tech.

...Frank's back.

...And I thought this one would be an Onion article...

...Krempasky and Jamie, take note. Boing Boing has high speed pictures of bullets being fired through things. Of course, it's currently down due to bandwidth...

...OMFG!!! 4GV M3 F4TH3R, 4 1 H4V3 S1NN3D. L8R!!! is banned as a method of confession in the Philippines. Oh well. Good thought, bad implementation. They're banning it for reasons of confidentiality, which I find to be cool, considering this story about SMS being far from private communication.

Enough for now. More later, if you're good.
