If you are a Mozilla user, you're probably going to wonder what happened to the Password Manager in Firebird 0.6 and 0.7. I was a little frustrated, too. I used to really like that my passwords were stored in an encrypted, password protected file.

Well, aparently they are still stored in an encrypted file. However, it is not password protected by default. Bummer.

BUT, cheer up! The Password Manager dialog is still there, it's just hidden. Mozilla Firebird: Step by Step is an excellent site that gives you the details you need to understand the features and changes in Firebird. This includes how to get to the hidden Password Manager dialog.

Unless my memory is fogged, in Windows 2000 you could drag a folder of shortcuts on to the taskbar and it would automagically become a toolbar. However, this is not the case in XP. In XP, you have to right click on the taskbar, go to Toolbars, and select New Toolbar. A dialog pops up asking you where the toolbar lives. A little different. I had to Google it and found the info here.

I always set up a toolbar for my current project as a quick way to get to all the files and programs associated with that project.
