ITV: "It has emerged that a total of 52 separate warnings were given to the Federal Aviation Administration between April and September 10, 2001 about al-Qaeda and its leader Osama bin Laden.
Documents released by the 9/11 commission that investigated the attacks show five security warnings made reference to al-Qaeda's training of hijackers and two detailed suicide operations not connected to aviation."
The above together with the fact that during the hijackings not one fighter scrambled to investigate (not even to protect Washington), only points to a deliberate refraining from action.
That Bush thrives on insecurity is further proven by this:
SFGate: "Officially approved by Bush on Dec. 17 after extensive bickering in Congress, the National Intelligence Reform Act included the requirement to add 10,000 border patrol agents in the five years beginning with 2006. Roughly 80 percent of the agents were to patrol the southern U.S. border from Texas to California, along which thousands of people cross into the United States illegally every year.
But Bush's proposed 2006 budget, revealed Monday, funds only 210 new border agents."

Incapable of getting at the heart of terrorism, unable to capture bin Laden, the Bush clique is intent upon attacking anyone with an alternative view. Now it is Ward Churchill who had published an essay right after 9/11. As usual his words are misrepresented and the right is calling for his dismissal.
PressAction: "Churchill's essay argued that 9-11 was inevitable blowback in response to US global terrorism and imperialist policies against Islamic nations. According to Churchill, 9-11 was the long-delayed but inexorable moment when the US paid a small fraction of the political costs it has incurred in its ruthless assault on nations and peoples around the globe. Churchill emphasized that unless it drastically changes its imperialist policies, the US will be struck again, likely in a bigger and more destructive way."
Listen to Churchill's recent speech.

Fact is, most people don't want to hear controversial stuff, especially when it is pointing fingers. Read Naomi Klein about 'fingers':
"The election results are in: Iraqis voted overwhelmingly to throw out the US-installed government of Iyad Allawi, who refused to ask the United States to leave. A decisive majority voted for the United Iraqi Alliance; the second plank in the UIA platform calls for "a timetable for the withdrawal of the multinational forces from Iraq.
Iraq's elections were delayed time and time again, while the occupation and resistance grew ever more deadly. Now it seems that two years of bloodshed, bribery and backroom arm-twisting were leading up to this: a deal in which the ayatollahs get control over the family, Texaco gets the oil, and Washington gets its enduring military bases (call it the 'oil for women program'). Everyone wins except the voters, who risked their lives to cast their ballots for a very different set of policies."
Reality is being replaced by myths. Even scientists are complaining about having to alter their findings. That is so typical about the Bush administration and its delusions. What Bush means by 'uniting' is that everyone must follow his ideas, essentially based on myths, not that he should take into consideration the views and wishes of more than half of the American population who donot accept his policies and this based on facts and reality.
Have a peek at the Republican Dictionary.
