Ralph Peters is a retired Army officer. He was assigned to the Office of the Deputy Chief of Staff for Intelligence, where he was responsible for future warfare. He is a war ideologue, a Blut und Boden ideologue, a kind of modern Goebbels.
He also wrote for Parameters, the US Army War College Quarterly - The United States Army's Senior Professional Journal. Let's see what he writes.

Constant Conflict: "We have entered an age of constant conflict. Information is at once our core commodity and the most destabilizing factor of our time. Until now, history has been a quest to acquire information; today, the challenge lies in managing information. Those of us who can sort, digest, synthesize, and apply relevant knowledge soar - professionally, financially, politically, militarily, and socially. We, the winners, are a minority.
One of the defining bifurcations of the future will be the conflict between information masters and information victims.

There will be no peace. At any given moment for the rest of our lifetimes, there will be multiple conflicts in mutating forms around the globe. Violent conflict will dominate the headlines, but cultural and economic struggles will be steadier and ultimately more decisive. The de facto role of the US armed forces will be to keep the world safe for our economy and open to our cultural assault. To those ends, we will do a fair amount of killing.
We are building an information-based military to do that killing.

There is no 'big threat' out there. There's none on the horizon, either.
Everybody is afraid of us. Our unconscious alliance of culture with killing power is a combat multiplier no government, including our own, could design or afford. We are magic. And we're going to keep it that way.
Culture is fate. Countries, clans, military services, and individual soldiers are products of their respective cultures, and they are either empowered or imprisoned."

In Praise of Attrition: "The belief that attrition, as an objective or a result, is inherently negative is simply wrong. A soldier's job is to kill the enemy. All else, however important it may appear at the moment, is secondary. And to kill the enemy is to attrit the enemy. All wars in which bullets - or arrows - fly are wars of attrition.
There is no substitute for shedding the enemy's blood.

Far from entering an age of maneuver, we have entered a new age of attrition warfare in two kinds: First, the war against religious terrorism is unquestionably a war of attrition - if one of your enemies is left alive or unimprisoned, he will continue trying to kill you and destroy your civilization. Second, Operation Iraqi Freedom, for all its dashing maneuvers, provided a new example of a postmodern war of attrition - one in which the casualties are overwhelmingly on one side.
Nothing says that wars of attrition have to be fair.
We need plain talk, honest answers, and the will to close with the enemy and kill him. And to keep on killing him until it is unmistakably clear to the entire world who won.

But we do have superior killing power, once our enemies have been located. Ultimately, the key advantage of a superpower is super power. Faced with implacable enemies who would kill every man, woman, and child in our country and call the killing good (the ultimate war of attrition), we must be willing to use that power wisely, but remorselessly.
It is not enough to materially defeat your enemy. You must convince your enemy that he has been defeated. You cannot do that by bombing empty buildings. You must be willing to kill in the short term to save lives and foster peace in the long term.

As a result of our recent wars and lesser operations, we have the best-trained, best-led, best-equipped, and most experienced ground forces in the world in our Army and Marine Corps. Potential competitors and even most of our traditional allies have only the knowledge of the classroom and the training range, while we have experience of war and related operations unparalleled in our time. We have the most impressive military establishment, overall, in military history.
There is no shame in calling reality by its proper name. We are fighting, and will fight, wars of attrition. And we are going to win them."

Peters' preference for German expressions indicates where he got his ideology from. He shamelessly states that killing is the ultimate aim. And in his ideology the whole world is the enemy. Ralph Peters is a fascist, there is no other word for it, and this type of fascism suffuses the policies of the Bush regime and the neocon establishment. It is the ideology of death, of Skull and Bones. The neocon American is the Uebermensch, who has a right to everything on this world. He will manipulate information to suit his own purposes.

However, there is more than one serious flaw in their whole set-up. As Peters said, they are a minority, and they have the fascist motto 'Viva la Muerte' (Long Live Death) and everyone knows that 'all who draw the sword shall perish by the sword' (Matthew 26-52) - all totalitarian systems crumble one day.
But what is more obvious is that Bush is losing the war in Iraq, unless of course, he considers the killing in itself to be his ultimate aim. In that case we are dealing with a madman, a person who should be locked up, evil incorporated.

Guardian: "A high-level leak has revealed that God is 'furious' at Tony Blair's attempts to implicate him in the bombing of Iraq. Sources close to the archangel Gabriel report him as describing the Almighty as 'hopping mad ... with sanctimonious yet unscrupulous politicians claiming He would condone their bestial activities when He has no way of going public Himself, owing to the MMW agreement' (a reference to the long-established Moving in Mysterious Ways concordat).
The archangel reported that the Almighty has become increasingly irritated with the vogue for politicians to claim that He is behind their policies - especially if these involve killing large numbers of humans."

More evidence appears that indicates the Lockerbie case was manipulated by the US to blame the Libyans. The Scottish Criminal Record Office (SCRO) was under pressure from the FBI to manufacture evidence to suit this trial and convict the Libyan.

Bernard Weiner: "I'm more and more convinced that it will be Republicans, many of them of the true conservative and realist kind, who effectively will do in the Bush Administration."
NYTimes: "After more than five years of allowing President Bush relatively free rein to set their course, Republicans in Congress are suddenly, if selectively, in rebellion, a mutiny all the more surprising since it centers on the party's signature issue of national security."

And the Democrats are still conspicuous by their absence.
