Patriot Act: "The board game that brings the thrill of trampling the Constitution right into your home... newly updated for 2006 to include NSA wiretaps and renewal of provisions!"

Break: "I suppose across the world their are various ways to greet someone. Looks like Italy is definitely the friendliest. This is Prime Minister Silvio Berlusconi greeting a traffic cop just before he gets in his limousine."

DearKitty: "A music CD with a painting by Hieronymus Bosch on its cover has been banned by Polish 'education inspectors', because in their words 'there are pornographic scenes in the Bosch picture that can damage people'."

DailyIndia: "Dutch naval personnel replayed the abuse of prisoners committed at the US prison at Abu Ghraib near Baghdad as a joke and took photographs of the scenes, the Telegraaf newspaper reported Friday.
The report was published a day after revelations of sexual abuse, including rape, aboard another Dutch vessel, the frigate Tjerk Hiddes.
Crew members acknowledged alcohol abuse, snorting cocaine and participating in acts of sexual abuse against women crew members.
On the last mission of the Tjerk Hiddes to the Caribbean to counter the drugs trade in December 2005, three young sailors were dismissed for smuggling three kg of cocaine aboard."

Everybody seems to have forgotten the bombing of Yugoslavia by NATO.
'Collateral damage' of that intervention: about 3.000 civilians killed, many schools, hospitals, power stations and bridges destroyed. About $200 billions of material damage made.
Nineteen NATO countries took part in that intervention, take a look at their capitals.

Boston: "When President Bush signed the reauthorization of the USA Patriot Act this month, he included an addendum saying that he did not feel obliged to obey requirements that he inform Congress about how the FBI was using the act's expanded police powers.

Bush signed the bill with fanfare at a White House ceremony March 9. But after the reporters and guests had left, the White House quietly issued a 'signing statement', an official document in which a president lays out his interpretation of a new law.
In the statement, Bush said that he did not consider himself bound to tell Congress how the Patriot Act powers were being used and that, despite the law's requirements, he could withhold the information if he decided that disclosure would 'impair foreign relations, national security, the deliberative process of the executive, or the performance of the executive's constitutional duties'."

CBS2: "Former first lady Barbara Bush gave relief money to a hurricane relief fund on the condition that it be spent to buy educational software from her son Neil's company [Ignite]."

And I bet Barbara Bush now gets tax relief. It remains all in the family.

Update via TalkingPointsMemo: It now appears "George and Barbara Bush - like a lot of other folks investment for non-economic reasons - are actually investors in Ignite!"
