NYTimes: "President Bush signed into law on Sunday legislation that broadly expanded the government's authority to eavesdrop on the international telephone calls and e-mail messages of American citizens without warrants.
Congressional aides and others familiar with the details of the law said that its impact went far beyond the small fixes that administration officials had said were needed to gather information about foreign terrorists. They said seemingly subtle changes in legislative language would sharply alter the legal limits on the government's ability to monitor millions of phone calls and e-mail messages going in and out of the United States."

The purpose of this law is to give a 'legal' basis for spying on foreign nationals. Bush is breaching international laws and the laws of the countries he is spying on.

DailyStar: "Six months pregnant and exhausted, British mother Jessica Barhoum is still shocked that Israeli authorities ordered her, her husband and their baby out of bed at daybreak and pulverized their home. 'I can't believe that it's lawful, that this law exists. I'm from England. Do you know what I mean?' asked Jessica, 32, who grew up in the southern city of Salisbury but moved to Israel after marrying Moussa, her Arab Israeli husband. 'You can't believe a country like this would make a law against its own citizens,' she added."

There is only one word for this behaviour: Nazi-tactics. Will people ever learn?

NachrichtenHeute: "Disturbing news are being reported from the Eastern Congo. 120.000 people have been fleeing clashes between government forces, Rwandan rebels under the command of a General Laurent Nkunda or Kunda, and local militias.
The news often leave the reader puzzled, what on earth is going on in that area after a peace accord had been signed a long time ago and elections took place. The answer is certainly not or not only Hutus versus Tutsis. The answer is Gold, Diamonds, Coltan, and also Okapis and Mountain Gorillas."
