Jim's Pond - Exploring the Universe of Ideas
"Beware when the great God lets loose a thinker on this planet. Then all things are at risk. It is as when a conflagration has broken out in a great city, and no man knows what is safe, or where it will end." --Ralph Waldo Emerson

New Book

I've been reading at a fairly regular pace, even over the past summer. The big problem is that I've not felt inspired by a book in many months. So I've refrained form even mentioning most new material. Call it boredom or laziness or just plain lack of inspiration, but I've been stuck in a rut.

So last night on the way home from dinner I took at detour to my local Barnes and Noble. Well, I don't know why, but there was this book that looked interesting and so I bought it. I got into reading it last night and picked it up again early this morning. I'm about 90 pages into it and this one has caught my imagination. So far so good.

The book is The Art of Urban Cycling. It's nothing like I expected from the title. I'm not an urban cyclist, at least as far as I can tell. The author, Robert Hurst, has a way of telling a story that captures my attention. Maybe I'll finish this book in the next day or two. Right now I'm tired of writing and anxious to get back to the book.......
