Blizzard

At 7:30 I stepped outside to get the Sunday paper. It was raining. By 9:00, when the dogs and I left for our morning walk, the rain had turned to snow. It was sticking to my lawn at that point. The drive and roads were clear. Going up 500 feet the snow was really coming down. Big flakes. So much for last Sunday's post about no snow.

We walked about 2 miles along the Lake Bonneville trail. By the time we turned around all signs of our footsteps were covered by the fresh snow fall. I was covered. There are a couple of amazing things about spring snow. It's very wet. And unusually cold. Or maybe it's just that I'm still remembering those 65 degree days from last week. What a day.

By early afternoon the sun was shining and the temperature had risen above the freezing point. Hard to believe that it was the same day. A bit later I grilled some steaks on the back porch. It was so nice that I put on a pair of shorts..........
