With the ADF Toy Store demo signed, sealed, and delivered, it is time to take a rest for a few days. I'll sadly be missing JavaOne this year due to my better half's reserving our yearly summer vacation during the same week, and then not being able to change it once we realized the clash, but the rest of the JDeveloper team will be there in force with a lot of really cool stuff to show off from our current and upcoming releases. So stop by the Oracle show floor demo grounds for a world premiere...

Before leaving for vacation, my eight year-old daughter asked me if I had any "easy books on Java for kids". I looked for my original "Hooked on Java" book back from 1995, but I must have it on the shelf at work. Darn! She'll have to start her programming career on our next vacation! I gave her instead a little book called Ciberfacce (cyberfaces in Italian) with pages full of emoticons that she can learn to use in the emails she's exchanging every so often with her grandma in San Francisco.
