In the post below, about Greenspan, what I really wanted, rather than any specific article, was to provide a link which would show the search results for "greenspan social security" from Google News, for articles dated between 2/25/04 - and 2/28/04, so I could provide a link like this. But the advanced search page for GN doesn't allow years, so the query would eventually become invalid vis-a-vis my intent, which was to provide a search link that would give a topical snapshot of the relevant news coverage (I wasn't trying to comment on the content of any specific article about Greenspan's recommendation).

Interestingly, Teoma does allow for years. But its results were rather lacking: it came up with zero matches for that date range. (Yes, I triple-checked that I hadn't typo'd; here is the cut phrase from my Teoma search: "greenspan social security".)

Alan Greenspan recommends the obvious: cutting back on Social Security benefits for future retirees. He gets credit, though really only stating the obvious, since nobody else in our national leadership seems willing to say it, lately. Yes, I know it may be adverse timing for conservatives (well, for the Rebuplican party, anyway), but sometimes ideas and truth matter more than political expedience.
