I do feel sorry for the judge who was listed for sale on eBay. Especially knowing that he is a housing court judge, and the fake listing was created by a disgruntled tenant being evicted. (I have zero knowledge of the particulars of the case, but I do know a bit about the degree to which NYC housing law tilts in favor of tenants. How many cities even have a separate "housing court"?)

But his comments ("I'm outraged that eBay would post this," the judge said from his home on Long Island. "I'd like to know their rules for this. I'd like to know what investigation they did before they put this out there.") simply show how utterly clueless he is about the internet, ecommerce, etc. No crime there, but I see it as emblematic ignorance of the digital world, on the part of the "legal class", who account for the vast majority of elected politicians.
