It surprises me how few people know when, or exactly what, the Winter Solstice is. (You'd think it would be a regular cause for celebration up here in the north.)

It really is annoying that the flash-based MP3 players typically have embedded memory (not removable, like on a digicam). Not sure why this is. I bought a 512 Mb SD player, and it would be really nice to have a spare 1 Gb SD card to share between that and the digicam.
