I know my client probably didn't mean anything by not signing the checks today, he probably totally forgot but it pissed me off - it was my check in the bunch, the check that I needed to pay my mortgage this weekend and when I called to see why he didn't sign the checks, he was like oops, it has to wait til Monday. Well, I'm not working at that site on Monday and won't be in til Wednesday. I was pissed because not only did I have to rush home and figure out how to pay my mortgage, I had to put a cash advance on one of my credit cards to pay the bills this weekend. Its almost like, oops, I didn't sign the paychecks, guess it has to wait til next week. And what really annoyed me is he called to question my hours, like did I really work 7 hours the day before. Yes, damn it, I work something like 12 hour days, 7 was for you because you needed something right away and I got up early to deal with it but you can't sign my check? Nevermind that I've been sick all week and still have been working and coming in early to deal with your antsy issues. At that point, I was like fuck it, your stuff can wait til next week too. I'm so tired of my clients not paying me on time. What the hell, don't pay your bookkeeper, lets see how much work gets done.
And then what the hell is with my IT guy? The backups haven't been working for a month and he's running all kinds of different backup solutions test to find one that works. Umm, while your running those tests, would you like to continue the backups? I could have sworn I hired him so I wouldn't have to deal with this kind of stuff. If my clients comes to me tommorrow and says we need a backup from 2 weeks ago, I can't give them one, they weren't running. I fixed it tonight, I bought a backup solution and am running it now but still WTF? Something about not liking a product from Austrialia or not having tech support, the product works and I like the restore feature, its easy. There are resellers in the US and if all else fails, call Austrialia - they speak english there. I might as well call them, I'm up when its morning there, I think.
Even though I'm annoyed with my client, I still want to make sure everything is running and working, his stuff can wait til next week but its not critical stuff that has to be done right now, but the backups are.
