A real peach!
I got to know Darcey through her mother, Kathy Arena. Kathy and I met at a party thrown in 1991 by Bess Obercoe (then Bess Coe). Kathy was a great friend and a big help with my sons after their mom's death. At that time Darcey was a young adult and her sister Kayla was only two and Kenneth was four. The photos shown are more recent, of course. We have remained good friends with the whole family ever since. Kathy came to Sue and my wedding. Darcey sold us our house and her husband, Mike Weir, a lender with Wells Fargo Home Mortgage refinanced it for us once. Sue and I photographed their wedding. Just recently both Darcey and Kathy (Kathy works for a roofing company) helped us get a good deal on a new roof!
Darcey and Mike have two lovely kids, Christian and Nataly. We are lucky to have all of them in our lives. It is wonderful how life can bring friends together and extend families in unexpected ways. Now Darcey has been helping Sue and her mom Fran in Fran's move to California. We really appreciate them all and all they have done for us.
