The fudge factor, redux
The Audrey Shell (see WIPs) progresses thanks to a three-hour plane ride from Atlanta to Denver. For those of you worried about getting past airport security with your size 4s, don't. You can slay vampires with Addi Naturas, but the Feds won't say boo. Word of warning: Don't knit during a turbulent landing. Ask me how I know.
Deep into the armpits of the Audrey Shell front, I realized that the armhole decreases differ from those on the Audrey Shell back. There's a reason for this. I designed the piece on Knitware, a fabulous sweater software program, but never plugged in a row gauge. OK, that's a lie. I did plug in a row gauge--the wrong row gauge. Because Knitware gives instructions in rows and inches, I blindly followed along, decreasing using Knitware's row count. Before I started Audrey Front, I fixed the row problem and printed another version of the pattern. So now I have two pieces with slightly different armholes.
As my mother says, fuck it. I'm going to press on stubbornly hoping that when I pick up the stitches around the armhole for the picot hem, everything with sync up nicely.
Am I living in a dream world?
Gotham update: Keep the yarn destinations coming. I like New York in June, how 'bout you?
Daily rant: 94 degrees. A record high for May 29. That's just not OK.
