Whip it good
Feltings: Word's in on the stitchless felt--you gotta beat the crap out of it. Anne of Threading Water said she gets a harder, felted surface by hand felting her knits for 30 minutes a piece. Other bloggers recommend several agitation cycles in the washer with the addition of other items like a towel or two to increase gyrations. I have also heard that knitters sometimes incorporate a pair of old tennis shoes to really get things going. Other thoughts?
Newstand: The new Rebecca's out. Too fun! As is the autumn Phildar. (Becky, are you a translatin' fool?) And the Interweave Press site has posted a free pattern for the coolest messenger bag--OK, they call it a "Monk's Travel Satchel"--from Vicki Square's new book Folk Bags. Isn't fall just the best!
Bagged: I am so all about the bag right now. Whipped up a tres soignee evening baguette last night that I'll post tomorrow; it's way over the top and will be even more so after I embellish it this evening. And I've got some other goodies up my sleeve. I'm finding that bags are a great way to test wacky ideas without having to knit an entire sweater.
FO's: Updated my Finished Objects section while waiting for calls yesterday. Haven't posted the Felties, but everything else is there. Give a look see.
