Not impressed

A season for socks

Caveat emptor: It's sock season here at Nake-id Knits, which necessitated a visit to the sock yarn stash. What do we have here? Oooooh, some hand-dyed cashmere-nylon from the Garment District's School Products--such a deal at $12 a skein! Grab a couple of size 2 circs and cast on. Drop stitches. Cast on again. Drop more stitches. Break yarn. Cast on again. Finally made it past the cuff to Nancy Bush's cute little lace pattern Friday Harbor (Knitting on the Road), but am not thrilled with my bargain yarn. Slightly boucled, it catches needles, splits and isn't all that soft. I put it up there with my other most-hated sock yarn, Brown Sheep's Wildfoote Luxury Sock, blech.
