One Busy Day

"Happy birthday to me, happy birthday to me . . . ." Things sure move fast here on the outside. I just had my official one day birthday a little while ago, and what a busy day it was. Tried to nurse and nap overnight and bond a little with my mom and dad, but boy can you tell that I am the second child -- they actually sent me off to the nursery for about 3 hours in the middle of the night so they could get some sleep! I'll have to be sure to make up for that when I get home! Then I woke up, had a few big yawns, nursed for a while (I definitely like this eating thing), got poked and prodded by some doctor, and took a little nap. Mom, dad, and Celia's dear, wonderful friend Betty came to the hospital to visit me (I was getting a little lonely -- I hear that Celia had lots of visitors in the hospital right after she was born, but I haven't had ANY yet), and I really, really liked her. And then things got even better -- I got to meet my big sister!!! She is so great: she was very sweet and gentle with me, kept saying "hi baby" and made a pretty good attempt at saying "Azul," and gave me the best hugs. She is so cool. Check out some pictures of our meeting that Betty took here, here, here, and here. The only time she hesitated was when I decided to let out a big cry, just for fun (take a look). I can't wait to see her again tomorrow. And they are saying mama and I may get to go home tomorrow -- to some place called "Quincy House" at Harvard. Celia says it is a really great place to grow up, so I'm very excited.

I'm Here! I'm Early! I'm Hungry!

Azul being weighed Saturday, 9:18 p.m. EDT  We did it!  After four hours of serious labor and only 20 minutes of hard pushing, I emerged.  Wow -- what a trip, but mama is just amazing (I'm a little worried, though -- I ended up breaking her tailbone again after all, just like my sister Celia did.  Whoops).  So far, can I just say that all the lights are way too bright, the air is way too cool, and I am way, way hungry.  Mom!!!  Actually, my first meal, though small, was delicious.  I think I'm gonna like that part.  Everybody says both mama and I are fine, and things like "beautiful" and "adorable" and "miraculous," whatever those mean.  Check out me being weighed (a solid 8 pounds 5 ounces -- and 20 inches tall!) and mom, dad, and me just hanging out.
